Gluten Free Singapore Toolkit

for Travelers and Residents

Get The Knowledge You Need Today

All the information you need in One Easy to access place

We want every gluten-free
traveler to have this guide.

This resource is the result of over a decade of firsthand experience living gluten-free in Singapore. We created it to help others avoid the stress, confusion, and risk that often come with traveling gluten-free.

Our team is entirely volunteer-run. We don’t partner with big platforms or take commissions from restaurants. We visit places independently, pay for our own meals, and give honest, unbiased reviews.

We believe everyone deserves access to this information—but keeping this platform running isn’t free. Website hosting, tech tools, and the cost of researching new places all add up. It costs nearly $4,000 per year just to keep things going.

So instead of setting a fixed price, we’ve switched to a Pay What You Wish model. This allows anyone to access the guide, regardless of budget.

Every contribution—big or small—helps us support travelers, connect residents, and promote gluten-free awareness and education in Singapore.

Traveling Gluten-Free in Singapore?
It's Not as Easy as It Looks.

Even in a city as modern and English-speaking as Singapore, eating gluten-free safely is harder than you’d expect.

  • Low awareness of celiac disease
Gluten-free isn’t well understood here. Most kitchens don’t know what cross-contamination means—or why it matters.

  • Shared cooking methods
Woks, fryers, and boiling water are almost always shared, making cross-contact nearly impossible to avoid unless you ask the right questions.

  • Language isn’t the problem—experience is
English is spoken, but very few people have real experience with gluten-free diets. Saying “no gluten” often isn’t enough.

  • Wheat hides everywhere
Soy sauce, oyster sauce, Milo, hing, and barley water are just a few everyday ingredients that contain gluten—often without warning.

That’s why we created the Gluten-Free Singapore Travel Toolkit—to help you eat safely, confidently, and well during your trip.

We’ve done the hard work so you don’t have to.

We have put together a guide gives you the confidence of planning your trip with a trusted gluten-free local—someone who truly understands how to stay safe in Singapore.

You’ll get up-to-date restaurant recommendations, know what questions to ask, what foods to avoid, and how to spot hidden risks.

It’s all based on real experience, not outdated blogs or generic AI lists. With this guide, you can plan ahead, order safely, and enjoy your trip without the constant stress of getting glutened.
