May 19, 20262 min read

Finding an authentic Italian restaurant that can offer gluten-free option and understands the strict protocols needed to prevent cross-contamination can feel like searching for a golden unicorn.

gluten-free pizza
Yes! This really is gluten-free. And it is just as wonderful as it looks.

Enter Acqua e Farina, an Italian gem with two locations in Singapore. If you have been dreaming of a safe, delicious gluten-free pizza, you must visit them!

Here is everything you need to know about the gluten-free options at Acqua e Farina:

Pasta Prepared in Dedicated Water

The kitchen follows excellent safety protocols. To avoid gluten particles in boiling water or on equipment, their gluten-free pasta is cooked in separate water using a dedicated strainer and dedicated utensils.

All of their sauces can be made gluten-free, and on certain days, they even have fresh gluten-free pasta available.

Celiac-Safe Gluten-Free Pizza

Acqua e Farina goes above and beyond to prevent cross-contamination by using a separate pizza oven dedicated exclusively to gluten-free pizzas. They use Caputo Gluten-Free Pizza Flour for their crusts. All pizza toppings are gluten-free.

Important: The restaurant only makes a few gluten-free pizza crusts each day. If you want a gluten-free pizza, you absolutely must order it in advance when making your reservation!

gluten-free pizza and pasta options
Barilla gluten-free pasta is always available. Gluten-free pizza and homemade pasta should be pre-ordered.

Ingredient Safety: Caputo Gluten-Free flour contains certified gluten-free wheat starch. While this is perfectly safe for those with celiac disease, you should avoid it if you have a wheat allergy.

For more information see Gluten-Free Wheat Starch Explained.

There are Desserts!

No sad and disappointing fruit platter here! Acqua e Farina offers a phenomenal dessert flight that includes a mini crème brûlée, a mini panna cotta, and homemade gelato.
