Talk: Parenting Gluten-Free Children

January 30, 20261 min read

Raising a child with celiac disease isn’t the same at age 4 as it is at 14 because your child’s brain, social world, and independence skills are changing fast.

In this free talk for parents, we’ll walk through preschool to adulthood and break down what kids can realistically understand at each stage, what gluten-free responsibilities are appropriate, and how you can build confidence and self-advocacy over time.

We’ll cover:

  • Cognitive and social development from preschool, primary, teenagers, through young adulthood

  • How gluten-free needs change with development

  • Tips on how parents can best prepare for and manage the changing needs

  • Preparing your child for gluten-free adulthood

Perfect for: parents, caregivers, grandparents, teachers, and anyone supporting a gluten-free child. This is not a talk for children to attend.

Date: Tuesday, 10 February 2026

Time: 9:30-11:00
